Thibault Simon

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AESA

Thibault Simon has served as chairman of the supervisory board of AESA since September 2023. He has joined Meridiam in 2011 where he has been involved in the development and management of various infrastructure projects in the transportation, social and energy sectors across Europe including the A2 motorway since 2017. He holds a MS in finance from ESCP Europe, a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology of Sidney and a DESEM from Reims Management School’s CESEM.

Wolfgang Zechmeister

Secretary of the Supervisory Board of AESA

He graduated in engineering in the field of civil engineering. Since  1988, he has been  associated with Strabag AG (formerly Strabag Austria AG, Linz). He participated in projects aimed at supplying water and health treatment in Gambia ("Greater Banjul Urban Water Supply") and Ghana. In 1997-1999 he managed the project and prepared financing for the 140 km section of A2 motorway in Poland. As the managing director in 2000-2006 he was responsible, among others, for the project of implementation and operation of A2 motorway, extension of A4 and A1 motorways and Segment  II of A2 motorway in Poland. He also took part in projects in Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Since  2007 he has been  a member of the Strabag AG Management Board. Member of the Supervisory Board of AWSA and AWSA II. He has been a member of the AESA Supervisory Board since the company was founded, namely  October 2000.

Patrick VIELLARD

Member of the Supervisiory Board of AESA

In 1994, he graduated from the Ecoles Spéciales des Travaux Publics de Paris (Civil Engineering) and completed in 1998 a general administration Master at the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises. He started his career in 1994 in Hungary within a local construction companies, Hidépitö, part of the Vinci group. He then contributed, from 2000 to 2002, to the development of a stratup named Constructeo.com which aimed at delivering web based services to the construction industry (Contractors, architects, owners). He joined the  Egis Group in 2002, with a series of diversified horizons, starting with development of projects from Paris, then the management from 2004 onward as General Manager of an O&M Company in Portugal, from where he travelled to India in 2008 to start developing road PPPs and O&M activities as CEO of Egis Infrastructure Management India (which notably operated the largest toll plaza in Asia). He returned to Paris in 2012 as Development Director for Egis Road Operation, and was nominated CEO of Egis Road Operation SAS in 2017.

JEAN-MICHEL MARTINEZ

Member of the Supervisiory Board of AESA

Jean-Michel Martinez worked for Meridiam from 2012 to 2021, where he was responsible for management of US and Canadian assets, with a specific focus on management of O&M activities self-performed by concession companies and coordination with toll system operators.
Mr. Martinez is an internationally recognized expert in the management of O&M for PPP concessions and tolling services businesses. He has extensive experience managing operating companies tasked with the delivery of operations and management services for transportation infrastructure under stringent PPP contract performance standards.
Mr. Martinez’s experience promoting and delivering tolling systems interoperability by working in partnership with freight industry.
Member of the Cesare IV advisory forum in 2009, Jean-Michel Martinez was part of the European Expert Group 7 in 2005-2006. The Expert Group releases a report to the European Commission on payment and contractual issues of EETS. 
Jean-Michel Martinez is an engineer, M.Sc. I.T. (equiv.), is awarded a university degree in management and business administration and a degree in Finance from the Institut de Haute Finance (IHFI) in Paris.
Today he is the founder and principal of Wimo consulting.
